Travelling – An Art Of Living

travelling-1024x576
I wanna go on a road trip some day. Alone or with someone I love. I wanna get away. Explore places. Sleep in the car. Stop a lot just to admire the view. Visit museums’ and try out coffee shops. Listen to my favorite albums while driving. Have a Polaroid camera. Take pretty pictures of the sunrise. Take pictures of myself. Chase the fog. Chase the sun. Spend hours on a field making flower crowns. Feel the wind in my hair. Buy souvenirs. Meet people. Take time to observe. I wanna make memories. I wanna feel alive.
Travelling, as I perceive is a form of practical art. It’s to not only discover the wonders the world has to offer but also to discover yourself. A lot of people these days have goals and dreams to explore the world, and travel to the ends of it, but they are ceased to do so due to the obstacles they face. Life in this era is hectic and strenuous. People are required to study and follow the normal course of life, and that is how they waste the major part of their life. Not that I’m saying that education is crap, what I mean is that while you are young and able, travel. Travel to the beauty of diversity of cities. Explore cultures. Try different cuisines. Wear variety of dresses. Meet different people. Befriend them. Get to know the world. Don’t worry about the money, just make it work. Experience is far more valuable than money ever will be. These years, they are the golden period of your life, years where you are not bound to anything or anyone, and while you are free, make it worth remembering. Because trust me when I say, twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by things you didn’t do, than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Dream. Discover. Explore. Don’t hold back, just let go of yourself and go with the flow, let life take you where it wants to.

Once you began travelling, you will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart will always be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place. It does sounds depressing, but the pleasure to know that wherever you go, there will always be people who love you, not only in one specific place but around the world. And the feeling is like nothing else. It is truly priceless.

And when you leave a place, you get a strange feeling, like you’ll not only miss the people you love, but you miss the person you are at this time and place, because you’ll never be this way ever again. It’s like losing a part of yourself, but finding another one of you, too.

So, make a bucket list, add everything you want to do before you die, don’t hesitate to write anything weird. Be honest with yourself. Do crazy shit. Go skydiving, paragliding, zip lining, surfing, experience everything; even if it scares you and you feel like you just can’t do it. Visit fancy hotels, do cycling in Amsterdam, party In Las Vegas, stand behind waterfalls, get tattoos, learn to speak several languages, visit forests, witness beautiful sunsets, spend nights in tree house, walk through bridges, go on road trips, let go of floating lanterns, see the northern lights, learn to play instruments, pet animals, travel through valleys, fall in love, a lot. Make mistakes, make decisions, change them and change them again because nothing is permanent. Life is to live, and you have only once to live, so make the best of it.
